The Launch of Osmosis DIY Blanks!

As you might know already, I have always enjoyed hands-on crafting, especially when it comes to sewing and embroidery. I am now sharing the love by introducing the first of a new range of DIY stitch jewellery blanks.
Firstly there are the felt pendant blanks. In a range of colours & 2 sizes in a pack, each is cut from thick wool felt and has a jump ring attached to the decorative border for an instant but plain looking pendant. The idea is that you stitch on buttons or beads, embroider a simple design or simply pin on a favourite brooch to give it a new lease of life. A unique pendant every time!
Then come the cross stitch blanks, available as a kit with pattern ideas, threads, needle & findings & or as individual pieces if you already have the rest... Pre-cut holes allow for perfect stitches and the options for designs are endless. There are round & oval options, each in 2 sizes. These come in either felt, black acrylic or bamboo- each giving a totally different feel to the stitching.

Both of these will be for sale at next weeks Perth Upmarket - Sunday 28th Nov at Winthrop Hall, UWA, Stirling Highway, Nedlands. My stall is downstairs in the corner near Eucalyptus Homewares. In the new year, they will be available online... watch this space!

I've even started a flickr page here so that purchasers can share what they have been creating on the blanks and I'll post some design ideas & patterns.

Don't forget to also 'like' my facebook page too!

another hitchhiker!

look what was attracted to my laser cut leaf earring while I was in the UK recently! It is a damsel fly - resident of my brother's garden pond. It landed on my hand, slowly walked up my arm, shoulder & neck before taking a break on my earring. After about 3/4 hour it ended up on my cheek& decided to take flight. Amazing!
Thanks to my niece Lotti for the great photo.

These earrings will be available in a range of colours, along with a full range of other designs, this coming Sunday 18th July at the Made on the Left Winter 2010 Market.
Please note that the market is open for 2 days - Sat & Sun - with different stallholders each day.

A little hail storm doesn't stop us!!

a message from the organisers of this coming weekend's Upmarket...
"Despite some storm damage to the Winthrop Hall, Perth Upmarket has come up with a creative solution to ensure our biggest Upmarket goes ahead. The market will still be in the Winthrop Hall Undercroft and also flow out onto a beautiful lawn area next to Winthrop Hall."

see you there from 10am - 4pm this Sunday 28th March with some sweet new rabbit & egg designs for low calorie Easter gift giving! Of course I'll also have my full range of laser cut & stitched jewellery.

Buy Australian Made!

Welcome to my new blog and what better day to begin blogging than Australia Day - & what better way to celebrate than to promote Australia Made - in fact Perth Made!
Some good friends of mine put together this facebook page of local makers who sell on
Of course there is a link to my shop embroidery etsy shop 17threads. Only yesterday I decided to add some new work to the shop & sold one already - ok I admit it, it was to a friend, but nice to wake up to this morning anyway.
In the near future, I'll be opening a new etsy shop for my laser cut work. In the mean time I do have some available at the Unwrapped E-boutique.
I'll keep you posted
